Just getting started....Hello dad

I'm starting to write a regular commentary. My dad asks me to write a long E-mail. I want to but when I sit down and get started, I'm soon distracted. Well the spirit has led me to start this blog. That way I can keep the news flowing to my family back home and keep a record of thoughts and prayers. A spritual journal if you will. it's late and I just wanted to get something out.

Family I want you to keep me accountable to post on a regular basis and let you all know what's going on with our lives out here in Vista.

let me explain the title. I have a memory of my Grandfather, Edward Graffious; living in Defiance, Pennsylvania. Long past my grandmothers passing, he had a rocking chair in his kitchen. Placed between his deep freeze and coffee urn right next to the window. I think he spent a lot of time there alone. His Bible was always close by and I always thought he prayed a great deal. Pap was a thinker more than a communicator, or possibilly I just didn't take enough time to listen. Not that he couldn't make himself heard, when he had something to say he would let you know.

To the point, I now have that Rocker. It was old and neglected and about to be discarded.
Then I started a new job where I represent furniture restoration and wood finishing products. Well I had my first project restoring that old rocker of my grandfather's. Believe me it came out better than I ever expected. I'm blessed to have it. As I've been reading this year I came across the thought that one should build an alter. A place where you can go to seek God, to thank him, praise him and ask for direction. When I finished this rocker, I realized I had my alter. Thank you God! And possibily it was it was my grandfathers alter also.

{Thought to apply: Children have never been very good at listening to their elders, but they have never failed to imitate them.} So I ask myself... What will my kid remember me for?
